Urban GS - Removing headlight cowl and beak

5636 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ridedog
Hey guys, installed the Daedalus Tail Tidy on my Urban today. I really like the clean look and now I am curios to see the bike without the headlight cowl and beak. Has any one of you done this?

Any advice on what screws to remove is highly appreciated!!

Thanks

Remove the two torx head machine screws from the side of the cowl, then carefully unclip the cowl dron the clips underneath the bowl.

Now look behind the cowl and you will see four Torx 25 head screws, two either side and these are like self tapping screws..remove these and the plastic ring will be removed...this will leave you with a metal bracket ...this will give you an idea what it looks like without removing anything else....the headlight bowl is only fitted with one bolt at the bottom as to the normal two stanchion mounts.
Ok, removed both, the cowl and beak, a little bit annoying that one has to remove the headlight to get the metal bracket off....anyhow, really like the look, something between Scrambler and Urban :)
