A few additions over the summer. The latest is additional bar rising - some cool ones from Voigt plus two 20 mm Wunderlich knockoffs stacked underneath. This along with peg lowering gives me a true GS riding position. More leg room, more comfortable upright seating position, dramatically better standing position. Added bonus: much easier to chuck it around in the twisties!

Thank you SilverFox, it's been a passion/obsession since I started. Winter approaches here, and along with it "Modification Season". I've got more planned, the big one being a whole new paint job. The vinyl wrapping was an experience, but I haven't been thoroughly happy with the look and quality of finish so I'll be making things permanent this winter - and with an entirely new graphics package so stay tuned for that!

@Jonnydee

It's very nice the continuation from the black seat to the black part of the tank.

I think that the front fender would be nicer if it was grey.

To stand out a little from the windshield.

Both of them in black i think it's a little heavy.

Gristle this time it will be more or less permanent paint, although nothing is really permanent. It was a fun challenge to wrap the tank but I wasn't 100% happy with the design, and more importantly a wrap will never have the quality finish of paint, which I missed.

Alligator thanks for the vote of confidence!

Error thank you for the input. The idea of painting the lower part of the tank black came from a bike built by Hookie which you can see here Street Eagle – BMW R NineT - Hookie Co.
Mine will have the black part in a satin finish and the upper in gloss like their bike.
I thought about the fender colour too and whether it should be black or grey. My fairing is carbon, and the thought is that the black will match it better and make the fairing more cohesive with the rest of the bike.

It just so happens that my bicycle wears the same colour scheme. When I bought this bike a few years ago I thought these colours were a little "out there". How tastes can change!
The main inspiration for the light blue and orange accents though, is that they were accent colours on one of the original GS versions. I think I posted a pic of that bike way back near the beginning of this thread.

Got some new bars. Going to look sick! In the pic the Renthals don't look as high - it's just the perspective thing. In actual fact they are very close to the stock bars - maybe 10 mm shorter and 10 mm less sweep. I don't think it will be noticeable. I'm curious to see if these bars plus weighted bar ends will reduce vibration, I think there's a good chance they will. The primary reason for these though is simply looks.
