Copied from another post of mine tonight:

BMW of Ventura called me on Thursday to say they had my bike in.
I was 5th on their list.
So that means the four people ahead of me passed for whatever reason on the bike.
And I passed on it as well. So person number 6 got the bike.
They came in on Friday in the storm of the century here and rode it home in the torrential deluge we had.

Why did I pass on it? When I learned I was 5th, I went to another dealer and put my deposit there.
Turns out they are great people. And even tho I wanted the bike terribly, the treatment I received at West Valley Cycle is unique.
So I decided to wait it out with them.
Yes, they are that nice.

Service does count - just a few months ago when buying a car I was looking and keen on buying a Infiniti - the service was bad so I went to look at a Lexus - yes the Lexus service was exceptionally and yep I now have a Lexus and am incredibly happy with it and the service continues to be exceptional !

I can't see any mistake in your behaviour. As you probably don't have a reliable glasbowl, this could not be foreseen.
If the dealership where you now are buying gives you better service and you feel more confident, you made everything right !

Just wanted to say I used to live close to the Ventura dealership and bought several bikes from them. I was always treated very well and I think they're a great dealership. Not to say West Valley isn't also, and it does seem to be a rather special place.

Oh yeah, I agree completely.
Bmw of Ventura is a fine dealership, maybe the nicest one I've ever been in.
And has an exceptional service department.

I have had many dealings with them, and would recommend them in an instant.

Working at a Dealer it's good to see people still care about service!
As more or less every dealer sells the same, service is the only area where you can show your passion.
Not with high gloss papers, with good service you can win confidence ... and customers...
That makes the difference !

Really? Price would be the same - all the money dealers make is in service anyway. Silliness.

I for one thank you!
I was 7th on the list @BMWVC and got the call yesterday that I could have the next bike, due in next week hopefully! 6th in line must have passed also.
It is a great dealer all around, enough so that I didn't even consider buying a bike from anyone else in the area. The timing was a little sooner than I expected but a pleasant surprise none the less.
The offer still stands to get together when my 9T comes, could even let you ride it if you don't have yours yet, since it was yours anyways!

Really nice of you Finn. Seriously. :p
I was told mine was getting put on a truck I think today.
So I should be riding next week as well.

We will definitely have to get together for a ride and coffee when were both hooked up.

Sweet!
I'm looking forward to it.

BTW, I was told our bikes don't ride on a truck but are flown to the west coast... maybe our bikes are sharing a plane ride. We can say honestly that these bikes really fly!

I called up the dealer today, and told him to deliver the bike next Thursday. I'm a bit busy from now to then. I have an appointment very near them on Wednesday, and will finish up any paperwork they have then. Registration stuff I guess. The salesman apparently has it next to his desk, with a sold sign, and a big "Do Not Sit" sign on it. Actually, I think its nice they have it on display over the weekend. Gonna be a lot of jealous BMW owners in there Saturday, as the weather is nice this weekend. Its 53 F right now.
