Bit of a busy day today.
First I fitted my Optimate type charger lead directly to the battery, ended up taking the tank off after messing around trying to do it with just the front of the tank lifted. Dropped one of the washers from the battery bolt and couldn’t fish it out. So the fuel tank came off… not a bad job.
Second was to fit Voigt Bar risers (25mm Up/23mm back) again simple enough job. Word of warning: You cannot tilt the fuel tank when they are fitted, the front of the tank will hit the bar risers when trying to lift/pivot the fuel tank. It will be bar risers off each time the tank has to be lifted (air filter)
While doing the above I found a discreet place to mount my GPS Tracker

. Happy that’s on the bike.
Took it out for a spin to see how the Voigt Bar risers felt, definite improvement but will need more saddle time to confirm. I ached a bit after doing all the above work, back, knees, hips which made it hard to tell….
Also Hit the 310 mile mark in “Running it in” with the first service is booked for the end of the month.
Had its second fill of fuel, took 13.95 litres which gave me 175 miles. I’m quite pleased with that MPG.
Off to cook my dinner now and reward myself with a well-earned cold bottle of beer, or two.
