I’ve been unsure about the aesthetics of my Pro-race exhaust for a while. The sound is awesome (baffle in) so it has to stay. But as they say with too many tattoos, “if in doubt, black it out”. So I did, then went for a scramble and a cowboy coffee. View attachment 155630

Installed Unit Garage Oil Cooler Shield. I read most of the differing opinions on these shields and their contribution to overheating (or just temp increase). So I deferred to the experts, my Dealership's Service Team. I deemed them experts since they are located in Palm Bay Florida and the local road surface temps get over 145 F. during our 6 months of Summer. Their answer was - "Good to Go, no adverse affect".

Whipped this out. I'd say it's about 10% louder than before and a nicer deeper tone. I still have stock headers and the butterfly valve. I'll do a motorway test for droning.
What did you yank that out of? Stock?
Yes the urban GS low silencer (same as the racer one)
Took about an hour, 2 bolts to remove silencer from bike, 5 bolts to remove end can cap. Drill the 3 welds out to approx 9mm then used a rotary rasp to ensure all the weld was broken. Tapped a small chisel down the welded areas to break free then slid a long crow bar down the other end and tapped it out with a hammer. Welded the holes to avoid whistling

I made the lovely little wiring harness for the injectors to the quick shifter, transferred the factory pieces to it, placed it over the front indicator stalk and tried to snoop some CANbus data.

1. CANbus is not exposed to the obd2 connector on 2021+ bikes.
2. I thought I had caught fire.
3. My wiring harness has one termination which is much less pretty (but still seals after some careful shaving)

Waiting on some Teso self-amalgamating fabric tape to finish it out and give it that OEM-ish look. It's like LEGO but where it's impossible to get some pieces and your fingertips bleed a lot more.

First, I replaced the riser clamps with Rizoma. I was OK with the silly stock dual clamp with BMW stamped in, but I needed to free up space for...

Second, I installed the Beeline Moto navigation display using their bar clamp option. I haven't tried it out yet, but it seems well made. I rolled the bike out into the bright sunlight and it was still easy to see the display.

Quickshifter wiring harness. My 1/4" ratchet would not fit in the linkage area with the E8 socket. Kinda wish TE sold the connectors without the grey tabs, but I am pretty happy considering it's mostly homemade.

Took the old wrapped headers off and gonna fit a shinier set on my '14 standard. Unfortunately I was helping my friend strip her add on parts from her totaled '15. Off with titanium headers and all the farkles and on the the stock. All done after it was OK'd by the adjuster.

Ordered some new clamps after my exhaust fell off again. I also put the silencer back in after it too almost fell out. Somehow the metal of the silencer melted or ground away. We’ll see how long the washer I put in lasts. Going to eventually replace it with a Zard GP. I’m thinking of going with a cafe fairing and bellypan first so it will have to wait.

Now if I can’t get a tight fit with the new clamps then the Zard will come first.
