Rode home from work at 5pm this evening and the temp gauge hit 36c/97f which is the hottest I had ridden in the UK. Previous highest was 33c but that was in the south of England which is usually much warmer than the north. Tomorrow supposed to be warmer.

Repaired a moist rear LED on my tail tidy and tried to troubleshoot a new error icon that persisted yesterday. All my lights work, and nevertheless she persists. Oh well, got a service appointment tomorrow regardless.

Plugged the straight fuel connector back in..

Bike didnt start; even called AA and they came to take a look but didnt find anything. then called the BMW dealer and the first thing they asked was if the fuel connector was all the way in. It sometimes can come loose when you lift the tank apparently. So i pushed it back in and the bike fired straight up.

I think the connector was already loose (not locked in) and it got it's final push yesterday to go all the way out. Happy i figured it out at home rather than going 120km/u on the highway.

Made a big mess under my seat with cables.. but for good reason.

Installed 2 extra rear running lights. 2 Denali DR1's and a Denali Dialdim. The result:

Lights on minimum brightness for the picture

The Dialdim controller on the handlebars, controls the Denali DM's (Small lights) and the Denali DR1's (Big lights). You can easily turn them on / off and dim them in 0-100% (10% steps).
Double click to switch to the 2nd set of lights (Blue led ring for DR1's, Green ring for Dm's)

Also hooked up the dialdim to the indicators. When i indicate left for example; it turns the DR1 off and flashes the DM light with the indicator.

Are those the $50 ones? Can you confirm product via link? That's crazy. I'm not a fan of cheaper Chinese versions, but those looks good and if I can't give my $$ to the fabricator down the street, I'd just as soon give $50 to Alibaba than $500 to Wunderlich...

Well, even $50 are too much for bad engeneering/material, bad paint and bad/cheap screws!
Not that protective and in case of falling they will seriously damage your engine.
Same for the ones from Motea.

Not saying I disagree with your general statements on quality, but do you have direct experience with any of that for that bar? Or just a general inkling that they're sub-par? Sincerely trying to find out and not trolling.

I'm not sure I'm too concerned with engineering as there only seem to be a couple of styles of bars across all of the brands. Cheap screws can be replaced if they don't hold it on, and bad paint is limited to cosmetics. If the welds are decent and the steel OK, they should prevent larger damage on a slow fall which is really the point. We've seen "name" brands fail to protect the heads at higher speeds so I'm not counting on that anyway.

I don't want to bring down the quality level of the bike, but decent protection for $50 is better than no protection at all....

There was a guy on here a year or two ago that put a set of cheap engine bars on his 9T. One of the bolts that attach it to the engine case was too long and pushed a hole into the case and was leaking oil.

Don’t assume a guy knocking off a legit manufacturer gives a flyingflip about you or your bike, only your money…

Dont buy Chinese sourced bars.. they are bad; like most stuff that comes out of that country without proper quality control.
The welds are bad, paint is bad, materials supplied for mounting are bad (or wrong even).

If u want good bars; get Unit garage , SW motech or Wunderlich.

No clue why people buy a rather expensive bike like the R nine T; then skimp on addon parts.

You will thank me later.
