Someone cut my rear seat strap so I'm planning on taking the seats off, then just removing the strap altogether. I found the attached image in the manual, but I'm not sure of the screw type so I wanted to ask if anyone's aware of whether I need an allen key (size?) or phillips head or what?

If no one knows off the top of their head I'll find out later when I head out to do this and will update just in case anyone else ever has to do this. Thanks!

This was a Torx T30 on my 2014 R NineT, as were a lot of this size fasteners across the bike.

Thanks everyone! Sorry, I thought I had marked this post to be watched. Been so busy I haven't had a chance to do this, but will take some Torx bits down with me later.

Thanks again.

Does the strap serve a purpose?
As there is no rear grab rail fitted to this model, it's for a pillion passenger to hold on to.

It can also assist when walking/manhandling the bike around, in a tight garage space for example.
