I visited my dealer yesterday to order some accessoires.
He told me, my bike will arrive in week 9 !!
That's 4 weeks earlier than expected.
But what makes me angry: He told that he will get the first on in week 8 and that this one is NOT mine.... this one is for his showroom.

I think the date of delivery is not depending on the country you live in, it only depends on your number in the line.

Tell him that NineT forum members are saying that; a good dealer must be able to swap his showroom slot with yours to keep a loyal customer. ;)

I've been told by TWO dealers here in California that the first bike in is the showroom/ demo bike. And not a customer bike.
I think that's standard.
I'm ok with that. Seems fair as a business owner myself.
Hard to sell such a big ticket item by using pixels.

I wanted a k1300s until I rode it. I looked at pictures till I was nutty.
Reality was very different than all the pics.

So I get why it's necessary for bike no. 1 to be a floor model.
( the cry baby inside me still wants mine first before the dealer and all the other guys ahead of me though...) :D

It's fine for me as well. Week 9 is 4 weeks earlier that expected. That's late February and probably too cold to ride a naked bike.
And his promise is still true: The first nineT that will be given to a customer !

I'm interested to know, what put You off the k1300s?

Its total perfection.
That sure seems silly to say doesn't it?

I had to look at the tach to make sure it was running!
And boy was it.
When i got onto the freeway, it accelerated so precisely, quickly, smoothly i was amazed.

I had a k75, back in the early 80s, and it was smooth - but the k1300s was really in its own class.

I dare to say this out loud, but I feel it didn't have any soul (i know I'm putting myself out on a limb here). It just didn't speak to me at all. Surely it was the most sophisticated / fastest / nicely built machine I've ever ridden. And beautiful.

It really is quite unexplainable.
When i got back to the dealer ( i had it out for almost an hour!) the sales guy was smacking his lips. haha.
He was really surprised.
So was I.
I'd have NEVER in a million years guessed that would be my response. I went to the dealer to buy that bike. And left on the bike I rode in on.

Is this first bike that comes into showrooms going to be available for a test drive though? Given that I haven't put in an order yet, I am quite happy to just have the chance to see the nineT in person and I would be super happy to be able to give it a test drive.

I actually told my dealer, that if the bike is in before the 15th, to go ahead and showroom it, My garage won't be ready till nearly that time. Some drywall patches, epoxy painting the floor, and doing a TON of cleaning. Not to mention moving one of our older LCD TV's out there on the wall, and doing some wiring through the garage for the new video security system. Been 10 years since its had a real gone over, so now's the time. Plus, I just know there are some tools hiding somewhere, and need to be put in their proper places.

Well, I have/had conflicts with the IMS shows in Chicago and Cleveland, so can't see them there. Week of March 9th-15th, I will be on a fishing trip. Let me think....Trout or bike, Trout or bike........
