Loosen the screw under the ring but do not remove it fully, it is difficult to get back together if you do.

Sooo, wrap it with the screw attached to the ring? Am I getting you right?

Yes, apply some gentle heat from a heat gun or hair dryer and cut around the screw.

So i have been starting to play around with some wrapping.
How do you guys do around the edges? I think i started with some really tricky parts...

I did this a couple of days ago. looked perfect then. Now when looking at it the edges seem to peel of.
Should I have pulled it further in? Or should I cut it on the edge so it doesn't even get on the back side?

Did with soapy water and hairdryer.

Mine was wrapped by a “pro”. He cuts on the edge, nothing wrapped ariund the back

What do you mean with put on dry?
I have had them in the warm house for a week. Vinyl is cheap from ebay. Will try to cut the edges if it not sticks. Have applied more heat and put some tape to hold it down while it sticks.

I was following the guide in post 1 in this thread. Soapy water was a he way to go as per Marc Australia. But I hear you, will try dry on the lamp mask and snorkel.

Remove the ring altogether, put dry vinyl across the ring and heat and pull down on the outside working your way around. You should end up the a bezel that looks like a drum, heat the centre and push down from the middle, cut a hole on the middle and pull down the inside of the bezel. Hope that makes sense.

This is from my very first try last year at a small windshield.

I used 3M 1380.
I have no comparison to other wrapping foils, but to me the 3M works very good.
I did it dry without any applicator.

To me the result is perfect.
After a year (after several rides and washings) the wrap is still flawless.

Also got them powder coated.
But wrapped front fender brackets, snorkel, front rizoma screen, instrument and the footpeg heel covers.
