I have ridden it a few times whilst doing the restoration and its hard to explain the smell... addictive. Also the bike is very quick! It took a while to sort the carbs, but now it starts first prod of the kick start.

Wow! That's gotta be a ripper. You don't see many of those over here. Nice work!
I'm a 2T addict, started with 73 RD350 that I built back in 04-05; I have over 25 two stroke bikes in the garage right now including Yamaha, Puch, Kreidler, Batavus, Gloria-Intramotor, Lei, Tomos, Italjet, DiBlasi, and MBK. I've even got a TZ50 that I'm converting to a street legal cafe racer. In the last 10 years I've had over 250 vintage 2 strokes pass through my garage.
This is what my RD looks like now.

Ah memories....boysen reeds, micron pipes and Stan Stephen's to fettle the barrels. Oh happy days. Love that smell and exhaust crackle.
