Recently fitted the LEDPerf headlight.
I had a few challenges, but it really seems to work well.
First of all: the wiring instructions (above) did not work on my 2017 Racer.

This image illustrates the way I wired this headlight. There is no "tapping" involved. But, the connection to the running light (parking) is via a female spade (this is the white wire). You have to pinch the female spade with a pair of pliers in order for it to fit into the supplied unit (which looks like where the running light inserts). But, it works.

Love the light. Also, at $150 USD was cheaper than a stock replacement (which had cracked).
I don't ride at night, so visibility was what I was looking for (also why I added the Weisertech running lights, shown). This bike is now pretty "bright" from the front. Definitely, a great improvement, and I like the "Halo"!

Ahhh, just saw your reply under your introduction.
RE: Ledperf clips.
No, it does not come with any. But, you can remove the stock clips and move them to the Ledperf unit (Along with the stock headlight trim ring). Place them where the Ledperf has a plastic “U”-shaped molded unit. This will effectively “raise” the clips and it seemed to work fine. I have had mine installed for over 1,000 miles with no problems so far. Good luck.
Please send more pictures of your Racer!

Glad it helped someone.
Nothing worse than buying an aftermarket part, getting excited, waiting for it to arrive, tearing your bike apart to fit it, and then finding out the bloody thing does not fit right, and the manufacturer does not provide any documentation…

Really interested to learn more about your “Hydrographic dipped” Racer parts…

Thank you, I'm hoping to follow your wiring instructions and it works 😁

I personally didn't have the best of starts with the first headlight but LedPerf's customer service was very good and sent a new one out asap so very excited to fit it.

The previous owner had the fairing etc. Placed in a solution with the carbon effect and when lifted out, the graphic transfers onto the surface. It doesn't look like the cheap carbon parts you can buy (imo) and always turns heads and sparks conversation 😃

@jpaton please ignore my previous message... I read you said to crimp it slightly so it fits in after sending it 🤦🏼‍♂️

So I've followed the instructions, cut the correct blue wire, plugged it in, turned ignition but not fired the bike up, no lights, light warning symbol... Press the high/low bead button and the top middle and two side lights come on and stay on plus high beam flashes and stays on... No halo. Fire the bike up... No halo 😭

Hmmm. All I can tell you is when I followed the above instructions (page 1 of this post), the halo was weak and I had the lamp warning light on my dash. When I followed the instructions I posted (above) all worked as it should. If you have a 2017 bike, I would think this should work, and I would suggest you verify your wiring and that you cut the correct wire as indicated. BTW the power to the halo appears to come from the running light (and the relay provided, where you cut 1 of the wires).
Good luck!

@jpaton so the Led Perf saga continues..
To be fair Led Perf have been great with replacing headlights (one was scratched, another had a bug inside the headlight so now on my third one). After fitting the third one, I seem to have an error message constantly... connections all the same as the previous headlight 🤦🏼‍♂️
I assume it must be a warning light that needs to be cleared by software... Unless I need a resistor to trick the bike 🤷🏼‍♂️

Last week i ordered a type 2 led headlight from ledperf.
By suprise the kit included a big canbus adapter for the main light, not only the small with blue wires for the w5w drl.
First i connected the main socket with the original drl still connected without the big canbus adapter. This gave me an error on the dash. Then i also connected the big canbus adapter on the main socket, with the drl still installed. This also gave me a error. Maybe i have to connect the white or yellow for the halo led to get rid of the error. I mailed ledperf for installation instructions.

@Phunkster correct, connect the white wire (if you want the white light, yellow if you want orange/amber) then cut the right blue W5W wire when the flat part of the box is on the table and ridge side facing up. Wrap the two ends with electrical tape. Should work.

I have a 2018 BMW RnineT Racer.
Will let you know how it turned out :) cheers!

I did some testing today. Installed everything as it was illustrated in the picture (cut the blue wire and connect the white to the w5w drl canbus adapter). Everything is working but i do get a error on the dash on the low and higbeam. Then i installed the "led decoder" (big canbus adapter which was included in the kit). On low beam no more error, only on highbeam.
I contacted ledperf with this matter.

LEDPERF Headlight Fitting

Hi all, just picking up on other threads from a while back has anybody successfully fitted the LED headlight unit from LEDPERF? Despite what they say instructions are not provided but when pressed I have received a limited wiring photo (attached). However, although the light works fine and the 'Angel eye' now operates OK with whilte light rather than orange, I still get the CanBus error despite fitting the Angel eye resistor. The supplied headlight LED decoder with the H4 plug makes no difference either. Many thanks, Steve

This is a bit of a late reply but i'm facing the same issue. I've even gone as far as to hook up a DC load to try and clear the lamp warning. Can anybody shed some 'light' on what the 'LED DECODER' is supposed to do ? I mean, they're lamps. It should be just a simple Ohm load, nothing to be coded or decoded... I also dismantled the W5W module to see what's inside...just 2 copper strips with some resistors across them. Basically you're putting an additional load on angel eye ring to trick the CANBUS into thinking there's a light bulb attached...

Hi, a quick update then: after a bit of trial and error and then some additional info from LEDPerf I got mine set up perfectly without any warning coming up. I've attached the diagram that was sent to me and which I then used to check my wiring set up. In summary, don't connect the yellow wire (unless you want an orange halo) and fit the decoder between the old H4 plug and the new lamp unit. I don't know what it does exactly but without connecting it I had the warning symbol coming up. Additionally if your LED headlight unit doesn't fiit the R9T's mounting ring securely do what I did and get some 10mm bungee cord, make a hoop around the internal rim (I connected the ends using shrink wrap tubing) and then mount the LED unit flush up to it. This gives a pretty good seal but you may have to change the bottom securing screw clip for a cable tie (see other posts on this). I hope this helps and good luck! Kind regards, Steve
