For anyone wiring something to the R9T, the screws to the left and right of the positive connection bolts, right behind the tank and under the front of the front seat are screwed into the frame and easy to use as negative connections. You can slide the terminal/crimp/wire under the black plastic seat brackets.

Well I bought a couple of those BMW SatNav connectors and will try running the R&G Heated Grips directly first of all...

If it doesn’t work (the BMW workshop manager wasn’t sure) then I will go with a relay.

Is the BMW GPS plug for the power available elsewhere? I have a new TomTom Rider 450 to mate with my beloved...

Thanks for the links. The Squadron one is $30 for a $2 switch found on eBay though they've added connectors to it. The HDB ones all seem to be momentary, not rocker which I want.

Will keep looking although the eBay ones are tempting.

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the big fat circular socket with a screw-on cover under the black plastic cover on the left side please? Can a GPS be plugged into it with a suitable plug or is it the CAN-BUS connection?
