Their mounting instructions are pretty straight forward. Street NIX 22 Cartridge Kit (FKS 211) | Ă–hlins USA

I have Matris fork insert and it was pretty much the same as the Ohlins install. Make sure you have long 6mm hex key. Don't use ball end hex like I did and stripped out the bolt holding the old damper in the fork. I would take out the damper bolt out before you take out the spring. The spring will stop the damper rod from spinning.

I read this instruction. Only several things I want to confirm. So maybe I should loosen the damper bolt when the fork cap is on? Do you mean when the spring is still in compression?
The instruction below said remove the damping rod, but keep the top out spring.

Does it mean the spring in red circle from the attached picture? And is that busing stuff the in the red circle the oil lock sleeve describled in the instruction?

One more question, when you remove the damping rod bolt, do we have to install a new washer on the damping rod bolt?
That is a lot. If you know the answer of any of them, I really appreciate it.

I just ordered this kit and I am wondering if anybody has this setup on the Racer or Pure. Any feedback on performance etc would be helpful.

I just installed the NIX22 cartridges on my R9T/5 with a BM-650 rear shock. Transformed the ride and handling. I'm about 260lbs and the stock suspension was scary at times.

I have the rear Ohlins BM652 shock, with 12mm ride height adjustment and the Nix 22 Cartridge fork drop in kit with the Ohlins .90 springs and Ohlins fork oil, which is required to work properly with there valving. The Ohlins Nix 22 require no mods, just remove the old cartridge and drop in the Nix 22 and be done with it. The Ohlins is a huge difference over the stock suspension on the Racer. No regrets with the Ohlins setup. The Nix 22 drop in fork kit requires no mods. to the stock forks. Thank you Mike at Kyle Racing for all the help!

I added Ohlins NIX22 & DRL46MM/BM641 Rear Shock to the build list before the UGS was delivered. I only managed one off-road ride before the weather turned snowy & wet. We rode a Forest Service road for 12 miles from N. Mills River Rec Area to Bent Creek Park, NC. My buddy rode his WR250R @ 25-30mph. I stood on the pegs & purposely aimed for rocks, branches & gulleys. The UGS always felt stable. Be sure the suspension is set for your weight. cheers, M

220 Kit

I installed this kit in my 2017 Racer about two months ago. I also installed a TSX rear shock from the Beemer Shop in Scotts Valley, Ca at the same time.

Install is straight forward if you take your time and "READ" the instructions. Keep all things clean and you should have no problems.

Like any other addition that changes the configuration of the stock motorbike you will need to take your time and dial the components in to your riding style. Keep careful notes on any changes as you go along. I go so far as to write my changes on the shock and top triple clamp with a sharpie (I use them because a little alcohol takes the mark off as you make your changes) that way I keep a working record of of where I'm at with regards to each adjuster. I also suggest that you get a copy of Andrew Tervitt's Sportbike Suspension Tuning book. The book has tons of info but just the trouble shooting guide is worth the price of admission.

Anyway the 220 kit is a great investment for a street bike and well worth the price.

Cheers

I have ordered this kit and going to install it after the new year. I had the conversation with guys on facebook rr9t racer forums who did that and they said they are not looking back- it is a great kit and improves the handling of the bike. I am improving the back shock too- swapping to Wilbers.
