Thanks for the review and good photos, potatan. Very good-looking bike. Out of curiosity, I did a "Build Your Own" on the USA R129T BMW website. The base model was listed at $16,295 USD, and $28,376 for the "as shown" version with many of the available options. Yikes! That's quite a hefty price range and way beyond my means now as a 2-bike BMW guy. Hope you enjoy every mile with your new bike.
Wow that's a difference! Maybe drop the gold plating from the build options ;-)

I think the UK base price is ÂŁ14200 and mine was about ÂŁ1000 more with added TPMS, Headlamp, Paintjob, Connected Ride and Comfort Pack

Yes, that must be the Zirconium and Diamond 719 Package pictured on the USA website. :) I don't know why I'm surprised by the hefty prices for the options on the new bike. It's not like I haven't pumped a bunch of aftermarket money into modifying my 2021 Pure. Customization is going to be pricey, no matter what. Keep us informed on your bike and your modifications as you go.

thanks for the write up! one thing that is a bit concerning is your foot scraping at only 31° lean. I routinely lean my R1250 RT 34° and am nowhere near scraping anything. (I probably lean my R9T farther but no way to measure lol) (y)

Ive been scanning pictures posted on here and I’ve not seen braided lines in the R12. Disappointed considering the cost.
My 2019 had braided lines. Were they standard fitment?
That's why i'm asking. I saw media reports that mentioned braided, but then pics looked like rubber lines, which while no doubt still fine, show BMW trying to cut costs (similarly with the one piece frame).

A dealer doing something FOC, you must be a good customer. Nice to see you are getting some kms on the bike and enjoying it.
Actually, the salesperson is the biggest BMW fan I have ever met ...... as we discussed how strange it looked on a showroom model they received before launch date - and both of us had only seen the bike on the configurator screen before - he said it should be green and offered to paint the part green on my bike for delivery. Ultimately, I went & changed the tail the following month.....

I've been searching for the BMW tail tidy but not been successful. Did your dealer source it for you?

I added the BMW Tail-Tidy to mine.
Regarding the bit of black body tail that came with a green bike - my dealer offered to paint mine FOC to match to green of the tank.
I'm about 2400KM in with mine and am very pleased with it.
Interesting looking - I think I'll stick with my standard tail for now at least. Looks like you're in Spain, I'll be over there in September on my other bike for a few days riding the Picos mountains :)

.... Ordered with the parts department of my local Spanish dealer. Arrived and was fitted about a month after the bike itself.
Just checked and it isn't listed on the UK Configurator - but it is on the Spanish one - maybe just not yet available in the UK.

Non-braided on my UK model, but they are stamped SAE J1401 and I have no concerns about their performance so far in 600 miles
Yeah, right. That's a little dissapointing though. Even if you don't notice a difference it's still objectively a downgrade/cost cutting measure. Like you said though, it's unlikely to affect your enjoyment of the bike, I was just curious given contradictory info online so thanks for checking.

Looks like they are braided after all, see comments
