Grease leaking new lower fork clamp? When should I be worried?

I was cleaning my bike last weekend and noticed that the lower fork clamp, right behind the headlight was covered in a thick layer of black greasy material. Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to take a picture before I cleaned it away, but I took a picture and you can still see some of it remains. I'm not sure if it's just accumulated grime from a lot of miles and not a lot of washing or a problem. At what point should I be concerned about something like a steering bearing gone bad?

Steering feels normal, as far as I can tell.

Thoughts?

Thanks folks! I think it was probably just road grime mixed with grease, it still feels smooth going from full lock left to full lock right. I cleaned it using a garden hose and automotive soap and wiped it down, so no pressure washer. I'll keep an eye on it
