Geeeeeeeez, you certainly got the maximum mileage out of the previous set of S22's @DomNineT

:cool::cool:
Yeah, they were pretty done for at 8000, and had to put another 1400km on them while waiting for tyres to arrive (was expecting 7-10 days not 59! for a local parcel).

This was the last proper ride tho -

And what was left closer to 9000 -

Outex tubeless conversion

I just finished converting the rear wheel to tubeless using the outex kit. First of all I payed $30 for shipping a $60 kit from overseas. Ouch. Second, what a gooey mess. Thought I'd never get all the bubbles out of the sealing tape but it's holding air. If I ever do the front wheel I'll use the 3m sealant. Hope this helps you to decide what method to use.

Have had my '22 bike for a couple of months now and I'm loving it. The only issue was the tubes and the hassle if/when I have a puncture.

I have quite a lot of experience with changing mountain bikes to tubeless so ordered up the Outex kit from Japan on ebay. The kit was £126 delivered and there were no additional taxes or customs duties. Weight saving from deleting tubes was 1.8kg.

Installation was straight forward and both wheels are holding air as I would expect, It took about 8hrs for the two wheels including tyres on and off. The OP and subsequent posters have covered the various points. My additional notes for anyone doing this conversion are:

Read the instructions and watch the youtube video and then read them again BEFORE you begin.

Make sure you have a wheel balancing type arrangement as this will aid nipple grinding/flapping as well as allowing straight installation of the tapes. A couple of cones and axle stands are enough but you will need an adapter for the rear wheel. Without this arrangement you will struggle.

That's it. Good luck with your install.

I did both my wheels for £40-£50 and got a great result. Did leave them in the sun for a few days to allow the sealant to go-off.
