How are they? How do they compare to your previous setup?
I prefer the look and feel with this set up. They are ever so slightly higher than the stock bar and riser combo and a little more pull back. Did about 100 miles ish at the weekend and much more comfortable than previous set up

Also they’re about 15-20mm wider

Feedback on Unit garage/DK design handlebars VS Rizoma

Hi dear BMW enthusiasts.
I wish to change the OEM handlebar (too wide, too white, to mach vibration). My angle was to go for a black one. I read the the Rizome is narrower and gets less vibration BUT is lower.
I'm looking at the Unit garage handle bar that has a additional reinforcement bar, is made from steel not aluminium, is 22mm all along. Do any of you made this swap? Do you have any feedback, especially regarding the vibration feeling.
Same question for the DK design handle bar with a reinforcement bar?
I like that the Unit garage and DK design handle bars are already pierced so it's easier to install.

Thank you in advance

Handlebar Rizoma MA011

Hi guys, I’ve a RNineT 2016 from now, I’ve changed the OEM handlebar with a lower handlebar Rizoma ma011 with 15mm H. I want a higher handlebar similar to the OEM, can anyone tell me what is the height on the OEM handlebar?

New bars

On the look out for some new bars noticed unit do some pre drilled which is great but they only come with the cross bar and are not the right clamp diameter so spacers needed not great really looks like another after market brand and drill the holes myself then..looking for something flatter in black and fairly wide and the correct clamp diameter. Would appreciated some pics if anybody out there rocking some flat bars.
Considering these s1000r bars but over ÂŁ200 new.

I managed to score a used handlebar on eBay from a BMW S1000R earlier this year, and not only is it drilled for the BMW switchgear, it has the threads inside the bars for the large bolts for BMW bar ends. The bar is lower and narrower (end-to-end) than the standard bar for our R9Ts. Not saying you could get as lucky to find the same, but it might be worth looking on the auction site and at a couple S1000R (or RR) forums for used ones being sold be owners who replaced their lower bars with higher ones.

One word of caution: It's possible you may need a riser if you install a lower handlebar. Different folks here probably have different experiences, but you'll need to be sure your switchgear clears your fuel tank.

Yep that was my thoughts I already have some risers ready and waiting if needed.
Thanks for the heads up.

This has probably already been covered, but I have tried a couple of different 22 mm bars from old airhead BMWs with decent results. Here are some R100/7 Magura medium high touring bars (5" rise, 9" pullback, 27" wide) mounted. The possibilities are endless and relatively inexpensive. You will just need to drill 3 mm holes for the handgrips and use shims for the bar clamps (similar to the unit garage set up).

That’s a lot of schnitzels indeed…

My Handlebar Solution

I wanted narrower handlebars but not too much lower.
The closest I could find were Triumph STREET (not speed) Triple bars.
I soon discovered they they were too narrow to mount the levers correctly,
so i has a set of custom adapters made of Stainless steel that would thread into the Street Triple bars which hold their bar ends on with a 16mmx2mm thread pitch. This results in a width of 27-1/2 " compared to the original 32" bars.

I extended the length of the bars by 7/8 (22mm) and had an additional extension of .530" of 1" diameter so I could mount the bar end mirrors. i had the adapter threaded so that I could mount a 12mmx25 bolt so that I could use the original end caps.

The most difficult parts of this installation were drilling the handlebars for the correct orientation of the handgrips and rounding up the 6 different sized of Torx wrenches to disassemble/ reassemble the handgrips.

Enclosed are pictures of the finished product
I wish they had 7/8 triples. I’d like a little lower and narrower without losing the mirrors. That bulge bar is something to just work around.

I'm normally running 2014 R1200R bars and bar end weights.
They're narrower, lower, farther forward with more pullback. Not extreme in any of those aspects.
They're nice all around. Varying my upper body lean angle a bit keeps weight off my wrists over a wide speed range. I also run a Dart Flyscreen.
I also have F800GT bars and bar end weights that are even narrower, farther forward and lower. They crowd the controls a bit on the straight area out board of the bends. But they're great at high speeds or serious playing in the twisties. They go well with the BMW Comfort(?) seat that's lower and hard as a rock but gives a really "connected to the bike" feel.

I'm sure I'd like those bars but I wish I had more straight bar without compromising the controls and being able to mount phone, GPS etc.

I use RAM ball mounts. They replace the 8mm handlebar clamp bolts. The clamp that connects the bars to the upper triple clamp.
