I need to get myself a paddock stand, but don't want to spend a small fortune on one, are there any decent budget options around?

I got the t-rex but had a hard time getting leverage to lift the bike safely so I returned it. Not sure if any other rear stands (single sided) are any better in that regard.

At the moment using the Trackside Roll On Wheel Chock (which works with all my bikes) until I have the need to lift the rear wheel.

Hey JH,

Was looking for Valve adjustment info and saw your inquire about stands. I know it was a while ago but I thought I'd chime in. I work on a lot of different machines so I've got a shit load of stands. For lifting the rear I would go with the Pit Bull model for BMW (you order by model ) I really like their front lifting stand also because they offer a plethora of accessories for almost any motorbike you can name.

I also use a Condor front, ride on stand (these I will use several times a day) they are so useful. I have modified mine by installing two "eye" bolts on the outriggers. I have two cheap ratchet tie downs that I affixed with loops to the handle bars and the Condor outriggers. This allows me to put a little tension on the front of the motorbike. I can then lift the rear of the scooter and put a cribbing block under the engine and the work on: Drive lines, brakes, rear wheel and even set a totally accurate Sag buy letting the rear hang free for my primary measurement.

Cheers
Rich

Looks like all the halfway decent stands are from the UK or Australia, and are about $250-300 USD price range. The stands might cost only $100-150, but shipping is usually twice as much if not more than what the stand costs. I had ordered a stand from Twisted Throttle a few months ago... still hasn't arrived. blah

You gotta face up to and get what’s best, you just spent a small fortune on the bike, don’t short change your self on the stand. It like buying a bed for your self mate, how much time do you think your going to spend in the saddle and how much time will your machine be on the stand. I’m telling you, the cost for a good single action one lever both wheels off the ground at the same time stand is well well worth the extra cost. How long do you expect to keep the bike is the only question you should be asking yourself …. It will pay for itself and put a smile on your face every time you use it … it’s all about convenience and ease of use.
Ask some more folks here about a Bursig, watch the videos … I’ve been both routes and I’ll never look back … second best decision I made, the bike was first … organize a group buy and you can save $100 or so. Well worth what it costs … no doubt ………Blitz

Can anyone recommend a good right side stand that is sold state side here in the US? All the UK and Australian stands are great, but shipping to the US is as much if not significantly more than the stand cost.

I ordered a stand from Twisted Throttle 2 months ago and it has yet to arrive. I understand shipping issues--as my bar end mirrors took two months to arrive. BUT I need a stand now. Not in 6 months. :)

I went with DynaMoto. Excellent build quality and extremely convenient. They are a bit pricey, but I am happy with the spend.
