I have just one question. Considering the cost of those wheels is there a reason to not go with one of the aftermarket wheel makers ?

There is also the issue in the UK with insurance. When taking out the insurance, most companies will ask you if the bike has been modified. Some insurance companies are more accepting of modifications than others, they may also increase the premium due to the modifications. With the BMW 719 wheels I declared the bike was standard with the options I advised them.
Wow did not know that. Big Brother is everywhere in our lives.

Hi everyone,
Even though I agree the nineT Classic looks great in spoked wheels.
But, since I am getting old, I prefer to concentrate on riding the bike more versus cleaning it all the time.
Spoked wheels are the worst to try and keep clean So I always wanted to replace my rims and the price didnt justify it for me to do it plus again spoked rims do look good.
But ten years after/later "Oh" where did the time go :) , I may as well start upgrading the bike that still makes me smile versus buying another bike and faking the smile :). Anyway I do have a question

what tubeless non spoked wheels are available for the 2014 nine t
which are not after market?

thanks

I think the part numbers are as follows.

CAST RIM, BLACK FRONT - 3.5X17 Part # 36 31 8 404 394
CAST RIM, BLACK REAR - 5.5X17 Part # 36 31 9 898 656

You will also need valves and spacer bush, bearings and seals for the front.

I hope the link works

Hi Guys

This is my first post on here.

I recently purchased a R nine T on a 2023 plate and have just purchased a set of these Option 719 Sport wheels for the bike. I think they look brilliant and will go great with the black and silver colour scheme.

I purchased the 2 wheels, valves and valve nuts and new disc bolts. Wheels are for the 17 on model so will be fine

It would appear from GT Martins post that I don’t have all the parts I need however.

Can someone just confirm that I also need 2 wheel bearings and seals for the front along with a spacer bush. Dealer did not mention this.

anything else I need?

just a couple of questions

The bike has only done 349 miles and is basically new.

I presume that I should not try to take the bearings and seals from the current spoke wheels and put into these wheels? . I presume not and if so do we just go for the BMW bearing and seal kit. They are quite expensive

i noticed that pier city customs do the bearing and seal kit (All balls make) at about £27 posted. But I don’t want to use anything inferior if not as good as BMW.

i also seem to need a spacer bush on the front. Again I’m not sure if I have one that comes out the current spoke wheels or if I need an additional one. What’s this for?

Sorry if this is silly questions but I just want to have everything right for getting these on in April.

Any help and advise appreciated

Thanks in advance

Hi, @S A Watt . I can't tell you with any certainty whether you will need to buy new bearings and seals, but I will tell you I had to replace my R9T Pure's front wheel in 2022, which was the normal cast mag wheel, it came with the bearings and seals already installed. The dealer you ordered the wheels from should be able to tell you for sure, but even if they do not, and if you have to order a set, I doubt they would take a long time to arrive.

Sorry, I've never replaced bearings myself, especially not trying to remove them and reinstall them in a different wheel, so I can't help you there.

When you get a chance, it would be great if you'd post an introduction in that section of the forum. (https://www.ninetowners.com/forums/new-member-introductions.241/) Even better if you include a photo of your new bike! :)

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Unless the wheel has been supplied with bearings and bushes you will need to buy them separately. See pic below for part numbers.

I would not transfer the bearings from the old wheel to the new one unless I was happy not to damage them in the removal process. Bearings can be sourced from BMW or a local bearing supplier to you. The seals could also be damaged when you try to remove them.
You also need the central spacer bush part #2.

I think you can reuse your existing spacer that is between the wheel and the LHS fork.
I do not know how good or bad the brand All Balls bearings are. I usually try to source SKF.

I hope this helps.

Where are you in the UK? Pics of the bike are always welcome here.

Thanks for the replies guys. The wheels are on there way to me from the dealer and should be with me Monday so I’ll have a look and see what I have.

I have now had it from Tim and another source that usually the wheels come with bearings and seals, but hey let’s wait and see I’m not convinced BMW would be that nice😁

I ordered valves nuts and disc bolts with the wheels

if they don’t come with it I still can’t complain as I got the wheels at a really good price. They were the only set in the uk at moment and the dealer forgot he had them so let me have them at a good price. They were boxed on his shelf In his store.

ill def replace the bearings and seals if I don’t have them with the new wheels and probably due to the age of bike get the BMW ones even if they are 3 times the price, Just in case for the warranty thing (BMW parts and all that). I priced bearings seals and spacers and it’s £90 so not end of the world

ill def get some photos up of the bike but I’m waiting till I get all the bits on. I’ve been picking up bits over the last couple of months as i go, so I have a big box full now 😂😂.

Got the bike in December but in garage and waiting for the nice weather. That will be around April up here in the North of Scotland.

Really appreciate the help guys

GT Martin thanks for the parts photo I was using that last night.

Hey Guys Santa came today. See photos below.

Tim you were right the front wheel came with the bearings, seals and centre spacer already fitted. So saved another £90 at Dealer.

i love these wheel and am very pleased with them. Will go great with the black and alloy paint colour on the bike. Also do away with cleaning spokes 😁

Once I get the wheels on and my collection of parts, which is likely to be May ( to much salt up here in Northern Scotland prior to that) I will get some photos on the site.

Thanks again to everyone

Sweet! 👍

Last summer, the local dealer had a leftover loaded Pure with a brushed aluminum tank and those sport wheels. I was very tempted to sell or trade my 2020 Pure for it because it was such a gorgeous bike. I'm glad now that I didn't, but I still kind of wish I'd gone for it. I just didn't want to start over with a brand new bike (that some of my mods wouldn't fit) and with a new motorcycle loan.
