Never mind about the title,

I just needed your attention so I can finish a simple job,

I have a question which should be a quick answer and I would like to say thank you for helping ahead of time.

Okay I was going to put on some ugly aluminum cylinder head covers on my 9T that just arrived. I figured the 50 page manual is only cause its in 50 languages
it is just a few bolts that you remove and just add the cylinder head cover protector on and go riding,

well one of the bolts I just noticed is a bit too long than the other and so my question is

Is this for some reason or did my 600 mile check-up (months ago) have something to do with some mechanic misplaceing or putting on wrong size?
take a look at these pictures does this bolt mean anything of can I just toss it and put on the ones that came with the covers. I hope the image comes out I am not an IT guy

That's the earth bolt should you need to jump-start your bike, or charge the battery the old fashioned way using crocodile clips. The positive charge point is under the rider seat close to the rear of the tank. The battery is burried below the ECU hence the provision of these jump-start and charge points. You can dispense of it should you wish, any of the other cam cover bolts will do the same job, but will be a little harder to attach a crocodile clip to. :)

Dave,
thanks that makes sense cause it does look like a bolt that belongs on Frankenstiens neck.
Okay so I shoud just find another location for it?
Cause I have to take that bolt off to add in the aluminum cylinder head covers
Unless someone has a better idea.

the croc bolt I guess is what we call, ground ?
