Strange we've been lucky, all of us use different iPhones, no problem with them..
We have a mixture of the newest Tom Tom, the oldest Tom Tom (2013 vintage) a Bmw Nav 5, a Bmw nav6 & a Garmin 660, again no problems with connection.

I probably should look at other offerings as the new Pactalk is expensive, in my opinion TOO expensive, but the G9 units do come up for sale reasonably cheap..

I ride with the Sena 10s. Seems fine for communication and relatively good for BT music. I also purchased the kit for the Bell DLX Qualifier MIPS helmet as I have a few helmet I alternate between. It has a cut-out that allows you to snap it onto your helmet. This makes switching it out easier. The speakers on the Sena 10S aren't great for music but better than trying to fit ear buds into your helmet.

Lots of good options out there but hold on to your wallet ;)

I just picked up the chatterbox X1 slim.

Pro's - R..A..N..G..E....! Up to 5 miles! Great for group rides with others or track day coaching with same device.

Cons - Even with sensitivity turned all the way down a loud exhaust could trigger the microphone...

It has to be attached to the left side and might get in the way of sunvisor lever on some Schuberth helmets.

Could generate a lot of wind noise depending on helmet brand and type...

I bought this because the group I ride with use the chatterbox exclusively when riding thru the mountains, canyons and high desert of eastern Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Having all that range adds a lot of safety when a dozen or more riders are spread out over a few miles of roads. You can let the others know about animals, road debris, accidents, breakdowns and of course the police....

However, I'll be purchasing the integrated Senna C-4 Schuberth helmet for most daily chores later this fall. I've seen reviews that say the Senna Mini video camera will tie in nicely for doing video blogging and this set up is also very light and extremely quiet...

The first time I used my Sena 10 it auto answered an incoming business call when I was riding about 70 MPH with ear plugs - I heard this "hello, hello" and didn't even try to talk. Later when I spoke to the customer and explained he said it sounded like a hurricane.

I can't see talking on a phone while riding due to the roar of the exhaust and wind noise. I use it for music and navigation - works great for both. I tried using a tank bag mounted phone pouch - no good. The sun heats up the phone and it shuts off. I just keep my phone in my pocket.

Yes, I still wear ear protection while using the helmet mounted speakers.

***EDIT***
You don't wear an open face helmet do you? ;)

Interesting, most Sena users seem very happy with call quality when on the move.

Sena SMH10

I have a Sena SMH10 on a Bell Bullitt helmet, not sure if it is me, the helmet or the Bluetooth, but I'm not having a good time with the combination. Also I don't know if I've ever did a negative review thread; but here is my experience.
First, I had a hard time mounting the unit because there isn't really a lip to mount the bracket, so actually you have to stick the bracket to the side of the helmet then attach the unit to the bracket. The problem I had was that the wind loosen the bracket and it came unglued. I had to stop and Super glue it back x2.

Second, the speakers quality; the sound isn't the best, sounds kind of bright not very clear, ( but loud enough).
Last, but no big deal it comes with a boom mic if you want a small wire mic it's extra.
I'll still use it but I'll keep my eyes open for a better unit. Who knows maybe it's just that I didn't mount it correct and I have bad hearing....

A couple comments:
The Bell Bullet isn't really the best helmet for this application. I have not really had much love for Bell overall. My Star sits gathering dust.
I'm not sure about your issue with the bracket as I can't really picture what you are referring to.
Speaker quality: I'm with you there.
No internal mic? On that you are incorrect. There is one. Either you got shorted from your seller or you did not dig deep enough in the box. I have three of these units and they all came with internal mics as that it all I use.

Here is the pictures of what you get:

Correction, I have the SMH10R so it is slightly different but yours should still have the internal mic.

I've used their ghost zero helmet. I was coming from a rf-1200 with sena smh10r for Bluetooth.

I was rather disappointed. To their credit, helmet was extremely light, aerodynamic while turning your head and comfy too. But the Bluetooth was ass which made the helmet useless. None could hear me over the wind noise if I was moving - in a call. And I couldn't hear anything over 45-50.
Compared to rf-1200 which was only marginally heavier but just as aerodynamic and waaaay quieter. The Sena also seems to have a built in noise cancellation which just makes it superior. No one could ever tell I was driving using it. And I could hear 🤬 all the way up to 100+ with all other other conditions mostly the same. Sena was waaaay louder.

As for the sos, I could never get it to trigger the right motorcycle helmets with bluetooth and gps. It also went off randomly sometimes but that might just be user error.
Hi, Can you recommend a good Bluetooth headset? I would imagine many members of our forum have experience with them. I am VERY happy with my Bell Star helmet, so I am looking for a unit to add, not a Bluetooth helmet.

We’re getting off topic, but Cardo and Sena are safe bets. If you want to try a cheaper system, the Fod Motosports unit is decent.
There is already quite an extensive thread on Bluetooth intercoms/headsets, so I've moved the posts there. @vaniwa please have a read through, and you might find something helpful. @DucRider has given a couple of good ideas too.
