@mattmiller1973 not sure whether you want to hear it, (but I’m German, we are opinionated and hardly ever politically correct, I’m sure you’ve noticed) but I have to say “no”. It just doesn’t improve the design of this specific bike. Yours especially is so nice, that ugly Zumo unit, its size plus this exposed position just kills its appearance. With a humongous Wunderlich fairing to hide, maybe. But that’s not what you have in mind, no? Sorry, just my 2ct. I do love that club, though. Is that the craftwerk? Nice man-cave there. Happy German Father’s Day!

yeah, i was thinking the exact same thing. maybe with a big wunderlich fairing but otherwise, it's an eyesore. on the other hand, it does make navigation quite easy ;) not that i really need it around berlin... and yes, it's Craftwerk. LOVE that place, especially during the pandemic it's a great place to hang out and wrench. and drink.

@mattmiller1973 have you perhaps considered adding a small cosmetic screen e.g. the aluminium version on the R NineT accessories catalogue? It could tidy up the look from the front by hiding satnav and clocks. Alternatively you could move the satnav onto the triple clamp, however not quite as easy to read. Bike looking great by the way; those option 719 billet components look ace. Have you mixed and matched the storm and classic components or is that how it came from factory?

Thanks! Yes I did a bit of both. From the factory I ordered the bike with the Classic package for the seat support, head covers and breast plate, and everything else in Shadow — the Shadow II package. (I did have to then switch out the seat supports myself, to get it the way I wanted.)

I’m pretty sure I’ll eventually get the Wunderlich Daytona screen, as they paint it to match my bike, or I’ll get the Ilmberger screen amd have it painted. Either way I do want a cockpit. Eventually.

Have you considered what I did? IMO it's a bit less obtrusive, still not perfect though, but I do like having SatNav on occasion so it has stayed on the bike. with the SatNav disconnected and the cradle cover snapped in place it look pretty unobtrusive.

Thanks but I am anti-ram mount, for some reason. And I want the Navi up in front of me, so I don’t have to look down, like I have on my Multistrada. I’m getting used to it!

I wish I would have seen this Evotech mount before I bought the Unit Garage 12mm bar. It looks like it works much better with the dual gauge setup.

@Alligator ... Does your Unit Garage bracket touch the outside edges of the gauge cups? I installed the tach on my Urban, and have the Unit Garage cross bar, but the gauges are kind of 'squeezed' together and touching the bar.
There are two models of the bar, one for the single gauge, one for the double one.... maybe you got the one for single instrument cockpit?

Could be. I didn't see those two. I saw one for the OEM R nine T and one for the Wunderlich wind deflector. Do you remember the part number of the one you got? Mine was 1645+A5

Another option for quadlocks, if your wanting that centred position for r9t.

Parts I ordered,
The above bracket from Evotech also comes with a Quadlock mount...

I just installed the Evotech unit, and the jury is still out. I’m not sure if it’s too ugly to keep on the bike — I wish it were like a quick release. It’s great from the cockpit, but not so cool from the front of the bike.

By the way, Evotech said it installs with four of the OEM bolts. That is 🤬, I had to rummage around the club here and find four bolts the same diameter but with a little bit more length. Pics:

I just ran in the the same issue, just got it delievered and the OEM bolts are too short. I need something longer, I don't know if they are M5s or not, put it back to original till I get new Flange Head screws, I found some BMW OEM M5 30mm Flange head screws online not too sure if thats going to be way too long though.
Nice Post, I don't mind the Evotech Quadlock mount its good.

Cheers
