I came across this in a GS-911 service tool thread, but think it deserves it's own dedicated thread. Like @Mr. Lee I had never heard of ISTA before and I'm sure members will be interested in this, I know I am!

Does anyone know if you can set the signal (indicator) auto-off timer with the GS911 on a 2017 bike?
You need ISTA-P to do any programming. GS-911 can add a second set of RDC sensors, but that's about it.
What's a ISTA-P?
Can you tell me a little about it?

There are 2 versions of ISTA, the Diagnostic version (d) and programming (p). D lets you read codes as well as has full wiring diagrams and troubleshooting steps. P lets you access the programming (also a great way to screw your bike up if you don't know what you are doing). I am hoping to program the BMW LED's on my brothers R1200RS soon and I'll probably do a video on that as well.

I will have some videos showing how it works in a couple weeks. Been on my list, just haven't gotten to them yet. Hoping to knock out the series on the GS-911 this weekend (overview, hook-up, mac, pc, mobile).

Here are some pictures of what ISTA/D looks like.

Yeah 2018+ is OBD2, otherwise you need ICOM A and then a OBD2 to 10-pin adapter.

There are some non-certified cables that work but use at your own risk.

I have fully certified cables which cost me almost $400, but I have no desire to fry my $20k bike. The ICOM A is about $280.

I have experience with all the software and have some videos I just need to finish editing.

I have a 14v power supply I attach to the battery to maintain voltage. It’s a digital power supply I got off amazon, works great.

Battery chargers are usually amps and not voltage so they aren’t as stable.
