Funktions tachometer

@Fritz

Your setup looks great. What other functions are available in the digital display of the tachometer ? Are they programmable or simply selected/viewed sequentially ?

Thanks in advance !
Functions are selected sequentially by the Info Button on the left:
Average fuel consumption, actuell fuel consumption, date, Volt, Roadtime and average speed.
The gear is shown all the time. You can reset the settings but there is no way to programm anything (as far as I know).

Hi all, I received all parts yesterday and installed it on the bike...

All fits very nice and works as advertised.

Only thing is that the cables (brake / clutch) are tight now.... can my fellow scrambler owners let me know if they had the same and if there is any way to lengthen the cables a little?

Thanks!!!!

Just had a BMW OEM tachograph fitted to my 2018 R9T Scrambler. It took less than an hour to have it fitted?
It simply plugs and plays with a host of new features. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like to improve their bike. Bill came in under £500 !
Gear indicator is a welcome feature.

Sorry to correct, but Tachograph is usually mounted on big trucks and is intended to continuously trace the truck speed on a paper roll in order to demonstrate the driver hasn't been speeding and has been taking the mandatory stops to rest. What your mentioning I guess is the rev counter.

I stand corrected it was a tachometer that was fitted also known as a rev counter. I drive an articulated vehicle for a living so must have tachograph on the brain? Did you know that as a new fitment on trucks the tachograph has a new bluetooth capability that can be read by DVSA/VOSA roadside and will tell if you are legal. Good job I am retiring soon? LOL

:) Tacho stands for speed in Greek. The tachometer (= speedometer) is the one and only instrument mounted on the UGS, the other one you just added is the rev-counter :) , I see many here name it tachometer but I don't agree on the definition, however, well done and enjoy it!!!

I have owned the bike now for a year and also had a K1300S which I sold last month. I think that because of all the bells and whistles on the K1300S I was missing the information? I owned a R1100S a few years ago and like the boxer engine sound a power delivery. I think that this current bike will bring me much joy in the future! The only down side is the seat which I find hard. I seldom go further than 80 mies these days so it should not be a problem? Will be going out for a ride later as the weather is good.

I'm going to pick up my new UGS tomorrow... I know I will probably need to fix something on the seat... looking forward to it!!! I have a full set of accessories ready to be mounted:

  • Sidestand larger base
  • Small grill protection for the air intake
  • Engine protection bars
  • Rack + 30 Liters Alu top case from Hepco&Becker
  • Grip puppies
  • A pair of mirrors
  • Phone holder
  • Tank protective sticker
