I used a T because i had a T
No fault light.
Yes. I saw. I am not sure. Probably I misunderstood something or I forgot something. I am lost. In this video (09:45) you can see Evap valve is remaining at present position and still connected. Only hoses are removed. Then no "T" piece is used. Only "I" to re-connect hose from tank. What I am missing?

You probably could not follow my highly technical official BMW parts nomenclature. Lol

I was having too much fun ripping hoses and wires out

Yesterday, I walked outside to find my bike laying on its side with a note from a neighbor who bumped into it 😫 luckily the only damage was some really minor scratches to the muffler and left mirror. Good thing I put those crash bars on! They work! 😅

While tightening my mirrors, I decided to try hanging them under the bar again... still harder to see BUT I found it's much easier to split lanes as my mirrors are now much lower than most car mirrors, and the cover is easier to put on! I think I'll get used to this.

Sorry to hear about the knocked over bike, but I'm glad the damage was limited to minor scratches - and happy to hear the neighbor 'fessed up to it.

Added the Wunderlich over priced 20mm foot rest lowering kit today..... was going to make something similar.... but got lazy. Anyway.... sorta fitted.... had to file away a bit of the aluminium brake switch cable mount to get it to fit.... so maybe I got the pre 21 kit. Anyway....

Image

also got a cheap chineese 20mm bar riser kit... noticably more upright.... not that I had an issue.... but easier to look around when travelling dirt tracks and bird spotting (featherd variety).... I do a lot of 25 to 40km/h stuff.

Image

Just now need to get some quality bolts.... chineese sent black ones.... go figure.

Fwiw.... this makes it 20 things I"ve changed/added since getting the scrambler 4 months ago.....who'd had thought.....

I received my Puig rear hugger back from the paint shop today:

Looks much better with the bracket painted to match the front brackets and hugger matching the Blue Planet Metallic. Normally, I would have this installed in about 10 minutes, but unfortunately, I crashed riding my Triumph Tiger 1200 XCA last week and now have two fractures in my left ankle. A car had catastrophic engine failure the day before and sprayed oil all through the apex of a corner and for another 100 yards to where it was parked on the side of the road with a huge oil puddle underneath. Just my luck, the town had not cleaned it up and my front tire lost grip immediately as I was leaned over for the corner. Fortunately, I was not traveling more than 35-40 mph and didn't impact anything but the ground. So, I'm off the Moto for a while and trying to regain my confidence in the meantime. I'll post a photo of the hugger after it is installed with a friends help.

That looks awesome, real sorry to hear about your crash and injury though! Here's to a full and speedy recovery, mental and physical!

Thank you Sir! I still wish the hugger was not so large towards the lower portion of the exhaust side. Debated getting out my dremel and cutting/sculpting, but finally decided to just paint it and hope for the best. As for the crash, I would be lying if I said it didn't get into my head. That cavalier attitude towards riding definitely got humbled.

Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad it wasn't worse for you. I hope the bike isn't too bad off either. I understand the 'humbled' part well. I hit a deer for the first time a couple years ago. It was more of a glancing blow with no real harm to me and minimal damage to my old VFR. Still, it's stuck with me some. I'm even more vigilant about deer than I used to be, and usually ride a little slower through areas where I expect to see them.

Ankle is healing well so I was able to do a little light wrenching today and installed the painted bracket/hugger. It looks much better painted although I do wish it was more symmetrical from the drive side to the non-drive side. The hugger hangs a bit further over the tire on the non-drive side. Oh well.... I'll get over it. overall, fairly pleased with how this turned out:

I run a zip tie through the mounting loops where the cowl meets up with the rider seat. Loop them around the subframe, not super tight, just snug. This will help even it up and keep it from coming off in the event you lose the rear bolt. I started doing this after my pillion seat went missing…

Yep I’ve done the same to keep the cowl from taking the scenic route when out riding! Takes only a few seconds to cut the ties if needed and prevents an expensive replacement.

I made an air inlet grill today.

I found some mesh from a brick vent and cut it off. Then I moulded into shape, which was not too hard.
Image

I designed the rest in Fusion 360 and printed it in PETG.
It sits inside the air intake and I put a single self tapping screw in to hold it.
Total cost of materials, about $15 AUD.
I glued it all together with some epoxy.
Will it reduce the airflow enough to affect performance? I guess I'll find out.

Made a camera tank bag for the Scrambler today.... it's to go on my unit garage tank cover.... using a domke camera bag was ok.... but required me to unstrap the bag, pull flap open then unzip bag.... rotate up and get camera out.... I decided a roll top bag is what I wanted.... but couldn't find one....so...

Made a wood base.... two bits of ply bent and glued to form the curve of the rack on the tank.... shaped in line with the tank.... so when standing and riding it isn't in the way.... but widens as the tank widens.... then made a kangaroo leather base.... then a double skin of waxed canvas..... about 400mm deep.... currently making a couple of inserts to suit what camera and lenses I want to take.... I'm a bit of a primes guy... so 3 to 4 lenses most times.

I only have a domestic sewing machine.... so my sewing is much like my welding.... that is to say.... somewhat disappointing.... but servicable.

That's awesome! Please report on performance when you have a chance. Great work!
